A short explanation of the cookies and similar technologies we use on our website and inside the Review Monitor app, and how you can control them.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. "Similar technologies" include local storage and session storage in your browser, which we use for the same purposes.

2. How we use cookies

We group cookies into four categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to work. Sign-in sessions, CSRF protection, load balancing, and language preference. These cannot be turned off.
  • Preferences — remember choices such as theme, dashboard layout, and dismissed onboarding cards. Losing these will not break the app, but will reset your UI preferences.
  • Analytics — anonymised aggregate usage so we can see which features are used and where the product is confusing. We do not use analytics to build advertising profiles.
  • Marketing — used only if you actively opt in to receive personalised content. Off by default.

3. Third-party cookies

Some cookies and browser storage are set by third parties we rely on — for example, Stripe when you check out, and our error-tracking tool when something breaks. If you register a passkey for Face ID, fingerprint, or device unlock, the credential is stored by your browser and operating system (not by us) under the WebAuthn standard. These are limited to what the provider needs to operate.

4. Managing cookies

You can accept, reject, or reconfigure non-essential cookies from the cookie banner on your first visit and from the cookie preferences link in the footer.

You can also block or delete cookies at any time from your browser settings. Doing so may sign you out and reset your preferences. Guides for the major browsers:

  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

5. Do Not Track

We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required. Because there is no cross-browser standard for "Do Not Track", we do not respond to legacy DNT headers separately.

6. Changes

We update this page when our cookie use changes. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when it last changed.
